AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A CLAIM WITH THE
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AND
THE ALAMEDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FOR
ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT
AND ALAMEDA COUNTY MEASURE B FUNDS FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1990 -91
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA),- (Public
Utility Code Sec. 99200 et seq.), provides for the disbursement of
funds from the Local Transforation Fund of the County of Alameda
for use by eligible claimants for the purpose of paratransit
services for the frail elderly and handicapped; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the TDA, and
pursuant to the applicable rules and regulations thereunder (21
California Administrative Code Sec. 6600 et seq.) a prospective
claimant wishing to receive an allocation from the Local
Transportation Fund shall file its claim with the Metropolitan
Transforation Commission; and
WHEREAS, voters in Alameda County passed "Measure B" in
November 1986 thereby providing sales tax revenues for paratransit
services; and
WHEREAS, TDA funds from the Local Transportation Fund of
Alameda County and Measure B funds will be required by claimant in
Fiscal Year 1990 -91, for $133,238; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is an eligible claimant for
TDA funds pursuant to Pub. Util. Code Sec. 99275 and Alameda County
Measure B funds as attested by the City of Alameda's opinion of
counsel dated May 1, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager or his designee is authorized to
execute and file an appropriate TDA claim together with all
necessary supporting documents, with the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission for an allocation of TDA and Measure B
funds in Fiscal Year 1990 -91; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in
conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission be requested to grant the allocations of
funds as specified herein.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of
May , 1990, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and
President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
