REJECTING ALL BIDS AND AUTHORIZING BY RESOLUTION, NEGOTIATION
IN THE OPEN MARKET, PURSUANT TO SECTION 3 -15 OF THE CITY
CHARTER, FOR STREET AND STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
SOUTHWEST CORNER OF EVERETT STREET AND BLANDING AVENUE, NO.
P.W. 10- 89 -18.
WHEREAS, on April 17, 1990,
adopted plans and specifications
Storm Drainage Improvements at
Street and Blanding Avenue, No.
WHEREAS, bids were opened
submitted, each bid submitted
budget of $14,600; and
the Council of the City of Alameda
and called for bids for Street and
the Southwest corner of Everett
P.W. 10- 89 -18; and
on May 11, 1990, with three bids
exceeding the available project
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3 -15 of the City Charter,
the Council may determine that public work or improvements can be
performed more economically in the open market; and
WHEREAS, it is possible, by reducing the scope of the project
and negotiating a contract for this reduced work in the open
market, utilizing City staff and materials to perform remaining
portions of the work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that said Council hereby rejects all bids submitted for
Street and Storm Drainage Improvements at the Southwest corner of
Everett Street and Blanding Avenue, No. P.W. 10- 89 -18.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the
City Charter the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to
negotiate in the open market, without formal bidding procedures,
for construction of said project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of June , 1990, by the following vote to wit:
