APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GPA -90 -1
ADOPTING A HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community
Development ('1HCD ") has reviewed the City of Alameda Housing
Element adopted on November 22, 1989, and the changes to the
Housing Element proposed by General Plan Amendment GPA -90 -1; and
WHEREAS, HCD has indicated, in a letter of August 30, 1990,
that the City Housing Element, as revised by General Plan Amendment
GPA -90 -1, complies with State housing element law (Article 10.6 of
the Government Code); and

on October 30, 1990 unanimously recommended approval of General
Plan Amendment GPA -90 -1; and
WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment GPA -90 -1 does not have an
adverse impact on the environment, as determined by Negative
Declaration IS- 90 -13; and
WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment GPA -90 -1 updates the Housing
Element to reflect policies adopted since the November 22, 1989
Housing Element was adopted, and makes further corrections,
additions and amendments requested by HCD; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda considered General *;
Plan Amendment GPA -90 -1 on December 4, 1990; and
WHEREAS, after holding a public hearing on GPA -90 -1
examining pertinent maps, drawings and documents on December
1990, as contained in the Staff Report dated November 16, 1990,
Council of the City of Alameda voted to adopt GPA -90 -1;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that said Council adopts, by this resolution, General Plan
Amendment GPA -90 -1, the proposed revision and updating of the
Housing Element of the City of Alameda General Plan.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the fourth day of
December, 1990, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia,
Withrow and President Corica - 4.
NOES: Councilmember Thomas - 1.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
