AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
FOR ALLOCATION OF SB36X AND/OR AB5X EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION
SERVICES FUNDS IN FISCAL YEAR 1990-91 AND 1991-92
FOR THE ALAMEDA/OAKLAND FERRY SERVICE OPERATIONS ,
WHEREAS, State Constitution Article IV, Chapter 18, Statutes
of 1989 provides for the use of Transportation Planning and
Development Account funds as reappropriated (SB36X) and/or
Government Code Section 66532, Chapter 28, Statutes of 1990, (AB5X)
provides for funds for provision of emergency transportation
services necessitated by the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to SB36X and/or AB5X, a prospective
applicant wishing to receive an allocation from these funds shall
file its application with the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is an eligible applicant for
SB36X and/or AB5X funds as attested by the City of Alameda opinion
of counsel dated November 16, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Alameda or
his/her designee is authorized to execute and file an appropriate
application together with necessary supporting documents, with the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission for allocation of SB36X
and/or AB5X funds in Fiscal Year 1990-91 and 1991-92 for the
Alameda/Oakland Ferry Service Operations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution beLk---f---fe
transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in727,
conjunction with the filing of the application; and the Zcl
Metropolitan Transportation Commission be requested to allocate
funds as requested herein.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the fourth day of
December, 1990, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas,
Withrow and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
