AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FROM
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORATION COMMISSION
FOR ALLOCATION OF SB 36, AB 5
AND REGIONAL MEASURE 1 -3% MONIES FOR
ALAMEDA /OAKLAND FERRY SERVICE
WHEREAS, Regional Measure 1 provides for the
disbursement of funds from the Southern Bridge toll one dollar
increase for use by eligible claimants for the purpose of ferry
and bicycle projects; and
WHEREAS, SB 36 and AB 5 provide for disbursement of
funds for Emergency Transportation Services resulting from the
October 17, 1989 earthquake; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that
have been adopted by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission
in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned
legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an
allocation from SB 36, AB 5 and Regional Measure 1 -3% monies
shall file its application with the appropriate transportation
planning agency; and
WHEREAS, funds will be required for continued
subsidization of the Alameda /Oakland Ferry service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Council of the
City of Alameda that the City Manager is authorized to execute
and file an appropriate claim pursuant to applicable rules and
regulations promulgated by same legislation together with all
necessary supporting documents, with the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission, for fiscal year 1991 -92; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in
conjunction with the filing of the claim and the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission be requested to concur in these
findings and grant the allocations of funds as specified herein.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the second day of
April, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Withrow,
and President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Thomas - 1.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
