RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, the persons who volunteer for the City of
Alameda continue to bring their enthusiasm and new perspectives
while providing much needed services to the community by their
generous contributions of their time, talents and special skills,
and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program gives Volunteers a unique
opportunity to experience new challenges, meet new people, and gain
valuable experience for personal growth and contribution to the
betterment of their community, and
WHEREAS, the Information Desk, Docent Program and City
Hall Tours provide valuable services to the citizens who seek
information concerning City Hall and City services, and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program's commitment to providing
a meaningful referral and placement service for participating
citizens continues to be a valuable service to the City agencies
in need of volunteer services, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to acknowledge that April 21 r
through 27, 1991 has been declared National Volunteer Week, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its pride ando; 0
appreciation for the outstanding and valuable efforts and
commitment of the many City of Alameda Volunteers and for the high -,
standards of the Volunteer Program. -1r -

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the ET
of Alameda that it does proudly support the City of Alameda
Volunteer Program and will look forward to its continued growth and —
opportunity to use the many talents and skills of those generous
citizens who contribute. This City Council thanks and commends the —
devoted Volunteers for their outstanding efforts.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the second day of
April, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas,
Withrow, and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
