APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE LUCKY/A'S
YOUTH BASEBALL FIELDS PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BASEBALL
FACILITIES AT ENCINAL HIGH SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Oakland Athletics Baseball Organization and Lucky
Stores have enacted the Lucky/A's Youth Baseball Fields Grant
Program for developing youth baseball facilities; and
WHEREAS, funds from this grant would be provided for
constructing a baseball field at Encinal High School that would
serve participants from various community youth baseball programs;
and
WHEREAS, procedures established in the grant proposal require
the governing body authorizing the applicant to certify by
resolution the approval of application; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement
with the grant sponsoring agencies for construction of said
baseball facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Alameda that
said Council hereby: 4 .>
1. Approves the filing of phase II of the Lucky/A's Youth Baseball Fields Grant Program.
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in
the application.
3. Allocates funds from the Dwelling Unit Tax Account in the(:---
amount of $4,000 to provide for architectural fees.
4. Appoints the Director of the Recreation and Park
Department to execute and submit all documents and support
materials, which may be necessary for completion of the
aforementioned project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the sixteenth of
April, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
