Resolution 12120CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12120 ESTABLISHING TIME LIMITS FOR PUBLIC DISCUSSION AT CITY OF ALAMEDA CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS WHEREAS, the City Council at their May 21, 1991 City Council meeting approved an ordinance establishing that Rules of Order relating to time limits for public discussion at City Council meetings be established by Resolution of the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that: Section 1. Except for public hearings and other specified situations, no one, including Councilmembers, shall speak for more than (3) minutes. The Mayor, as Presiding Officer, may grant additional time upon determination that the information is of interest. Spokepersons may speak for up to fifteen (15) minutes at the discretion of the Mayor, as Presiding Officer. At public hearings, the Council may establish similar or longer time limits prior to commencement of the hearing as well as establish an overall time period for the hearing. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the eighteenth of June, 1991, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 4.
