ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING FOR BIDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WHEELCHAIR RAMPS, PHASE 10, NO.
P.W. 7-91-10 AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE THE
SAME
WHEREAS, in 1977 the Mayor's Committee for the Handicapped
compiled a list of intersections that do not have provisions for
wheelchair access at the returns at locations throughout the City;
and
WHEREAS, the Construction of Wheelchair Ramps, Phase 10 will
complete the recommended ramp construction locations on the Mayor's
list; and
WHEREAS, the Construction of Wheelchair Ramps, Phase 10 is
funded through the 1991-92 TDA Article 3 Program; and
WHEREAS, Specifications and Plans have been prepared for the
construction of wheelchair ramps, Phase 10, 7-91-10, and filed in
the office of the City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Alameda will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock
p.m. on September 16, 1991, for furnishing to the City of all
labor, materials, machinery, tools and equipment necessary for the
work hereinabove referred to, in accordance with said
Specifications and Plans. Bids must be presented to the City and
plainly marked on the outside, "Proposal for the Construction of
Wheelchair Ramps, Phase 10," or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded subject to the
provisions of the Charter of the City of Alameda, to the
responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The right
is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications may be had by any prospective bidder on
application to the office of the Director of Public Works, in the
City Hall, Alameda, California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda
Times-Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the
provisions of this resolution and of said Specifications and Plans.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the twentieth of
August, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
