Resolution 12156CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12156 REQUESTING U.S. POSTAL SERVICE TO PROVIDE A TRAFFIC ACCESS LANE WITH DROP BOX FOR ALAMEDA CITIZENS LOCATED IN WEST ALAMEDA WHEREAS, the U.S. Postal Service provides a traffic access lane and drop box service for Central Alameda on Shore Line Drive; and WHEREAS, the drop box service at Shore Line Drive is not conveniently accessible to residents of the west end; and WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of Alameda have a drop box service conveniently located within Alameda neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda at the October 1, 1991 City Council meeting considered and determined that it desires the placement of a traffic access lane and drop box to serve West Alameda. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby requests that the U.S. Postal Service provide a traffic access lane and drop box for Alameda Citizens located in West Alameda that provides safe and easy access to the drop box with limited negative impact to adjacent residents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the U.S. Postal Service is requested to consider the vicinity of Fourth Street and Central Avenue or such other locations mutually satisfactory to the U.S Postal Service and the City Engineer as the location for the proposed drop box. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk transmit a copy of this resolution to the U.S. Postal Service urging the U.S. Postal Service to provide a traffic access lane and drop box for Alameda Citizens located in West Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the first of October, 1991, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5.
