ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING
FOR BIDS FOR SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS: ST.
CHARLES STREET NORTH OF EAGLE AVENUE, NO. P.W.
12-91-16, AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS: BAY STREET
NORTH OF EAGLE AVENUE, NO. P.W. 12-91-17.
WHEREAS, Seventeenth Year Community Development Block
Grant Funding is available for construction of sidewalks along St.
Charles Street, north of Eagle Avenue and street improvements along
Bay Street, north of Eagle Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the two projects are divided into two schedules
for separation of funding expenditures; Schedule "A" consisting of
street improvements on Bay Street north of Eagle Avenue, and
Schedule "B" consisting of construction of sidewalks along the west
side of St. Charles Street north of Eagle Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Specifications and Plans have been prepared for
the construction of sidewalks along St. Charles Street, north of
Eagle Avenue, No. P.W. 12-91-16; and street improvements along Bay
Street, north of Eagle Avenue, No. P.W. No. 12-91-17 and filed in
the office of the City Clerk on January 21, 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said specifications be, and the same are, hereby
approved and adopted;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Alameda will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock
p.m. on February 18, 1992, for furnishing to the City of all labor,
materials, machinery, tools and equipment necessary for the work
hereinabove referred to, in accordance with said Specifications and
Plans. Bids must be presented to the City and plainly marked on
the outside, "Proposal for the construction of sidewalk
improvements at St. Charles Street, north of Eagle Avenue and
street improvements at Bay Street, north of Eagle Avenue," or
similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded subject to the
provisions of the Charter of the City of Alameda, to the
responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The right
is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications may be had by any prospective bidder
on application to the office of the Director of Public Works, in
the City Hall, Alameda, California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the
Alameda Times-Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance
with the provisions of this resolution and of said Specifications
and Plans.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the twenty-first
day of January, 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
