RESOLUTION TO ASEDD O1JI ORDINASCE.
ITERTEAS, it is claimed. that section four of the nee( zone ordinance is
ambiguous, tinintellignole and ancertsln,
AND WHEREAS, in. once said ordinance should re au:emitted to a referendam
of the people it would not be possible for the council to amend.
AND WHEREAS, the city council desires to ommend. sald section. so as to make
it clear and unmistakable as to its meaning, in ease it has to opportunity so to do,
now therefore
IT IS HELZEBY RESOLVED and determinded by the council of the City of Alameda
that, if it has an opportunity it is the intention of said cornett. to immsdictsly
amend section four thereof to read surstentiellamasifellows:
Private garages or other subordinate structures
may be erected and maintained or acemescries to a dwelling provided
the. lot on which they are situate& forms part of the grounds a
cent to or connected with such dwelling; otherxice it shall be un-
lawful te use any lot in a residence district solely for the erce-
tion and maintenance. thereon of garages or other subordinate struce
tures, unless permAssion first be secured as provided in said. oreimarce.
Privstm garages or other surordirmmte structures in residence
districts may hm rented out for one or tho vehicles; provided that
where they are capable of housing three or more vehicles, and are
rented out ir. their entirety, or to the extent of three vehiclss, to
persons other than those e such &welling, such use shall re
deemed.
