RESOLUTION NO. 805.
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 73, New Series.
(Bay Island Avenue).
RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the council of the City of i1emeda to
order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said city, to-wit:
That Bay Island Avenae between the westerly line of Park Street and the
westerly line of Park Avenue in said oity be graded; also that concrete curbs, gutters,
gutter bridges, sidewalks and corrugated iron culverts be constructed thereon of the
dimensions and at the locations shown on the plans and specifications hereinafter
referred to; also that said portion of Bay -Leland Avenue be paved in the roadway
thereof with a six inch oiled macadam pavement.
Ail of said work shall be done in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions adopted therefor and now on file in the office of the city clerk.
AND WHERF.AS, said contemplated work and improvement is, in the opinion of
said city council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, said council hereby
makes the cost and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which district said council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work
and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which district
is bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the northerly line of Bay
Island Ave., with the westerly line of Park Ave., (as the same now
Exists) and running thence northerly along the westerly line of Park
Ave., 25 ft., to a point; thence westerly and parallel with the north-
erly line of Bay Island Ave., to a point on the easterly line of Park
YSt.',)to a point 25 ft., southerly from the southerly line of Bay Island
Ave., thence easterly and parallel with the southerly line of Bay Island
Ave., to a point on the westerly line of Park Ave.; thence northerly
along the westerly line of Park Ave., to the northerly line of Bay
Island Ave., and the point of commencement, provided
if(thence southerly along the easterly line 01 Park Street)
The city council hereby orders, and it is hereby resolved, that the cost
and expenses of that part of the above described work lying and being on the street
intersection between the lines aforementioned be paid for out of the general fund of
the treasury of said city.
NOTICE IS H2REBY GIVM that on Tuesday, the 7th day of October, 1924, at 8
o'clock p. m., at the city hall, in the council chamber of said city, any and all ovners
of property liable to be assessed for the work, who make written protests against the
proposed work or against the extent of the district to be aseessed, or both, and deliver
said protests in writing to the clerk of the council, may appear before said council and
show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with
this resolution.
The city clerk shall cause this resolution of intention to be published twice
in the 'Alameda Times-Star", a daily newspaper of general circulation published and cir-
culated in said city and hereby designated for that purpose by said city council.
The street superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated. work and improvement and in front of all the property liable
to be assessed, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention in the time, form
and manner required by law.
The herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an set
of the Legislature of the State of California entitled the 'Improvement Act of 1911",
approved April 13th, 1911, and amendments thereto.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting.- assembled on the 16th day of September., 1924, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Probst, Tilden and President Otis, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
