Resolution 00889RESOLUTION NO. 689. RESOLUTION OF AWARD (Calhoun St.) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda did, in open session, on the 21st day of April, 1925, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following work and improvement in said city. to-wit: That the following portions of Calhoun Street be graded, curbed, guttered and paved, to-wit: The northerly half of Calhoun Street between a line drawn parallel with and distant 140.08 feet easterly from the easterly line of Broadway; The northerly half of Calhoun Street between the easterly line of Versaillea Avenue and the westerly line of College Avenue; and The northerly half of Calhoun Street between a line drawn parallel with and distant 110.45 feet easterly from the easterly line of College Avenue, running thence easterly 109.34 feet. That the following portions of Calhoun Street be graded, guttered and paved, to-wit: The northerly half of Calhoun Street between a line drawn parallel with and distant 90 feet westerly from the westerly line of 'Pearl Street; The northerly half of Calhoun Street between a line drawn parallel with and distant 128.50 feet easterly from the easterly line of Pearl Street; and The northerly half of Calhoun Street between a line drawn parallel with and distant 41.75 feet westerly from the westerly line of Versailles Avenue and running thence westerly 43 feet; That thm intersections of Pearl Street and Calhoun Street, Versailles Avenue and Calhoun Street, College Avenue and Calhoun Street, and Mound Street and Calhoun Street, be graded, curbed, guttered, gutter-bridged, paved, and have corrugated iron culverts constructed thereon. Al]. of said work shall be done in accordance with the plans and specie - tions adopted therefor and now on file in the office of the city clerk. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that serial bonds shall be issued to represent unpaid assessments of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.0C) or more, which bonds shall extend over a period of nine years from the second day of January next succeeding their date; and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, upon the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid. Said serial bonds shall bear interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum, which interest shall be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and. July, respectively, of each year, principal and interest to be paid at the office of the treasurer of said city, as described in Resolution of Intention No, 76, N. S., of the City Council of said city adopted February 17th, 1925, which Resolution of Intention is hereby expressly referred to for further particalars, it is hereby RESOLVED, that said City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except that herein tenti)ned and hereby awards the contract for doing said wk and making said improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: Hutchinson Company, at the prices named in their lid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said award twice in the Alameda Times Star, a weekly newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said city and herety designated for that purpose by said Council. I hereby eertify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City COunall of the City of Alameda at a regular meeting' thereof held Tuesday, April 21, 1925, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen LathaT, Weiss, Noble, Probst and President Otis, (5).
