quicker transportation. between the idast and. West Bay communities, and

on April 13, 1925, announced its policy in relation to bridging San Iranaisoo Say

1. That no 'bridge of any kind. will be approved north of Hunter's

3. That a tunnel crossing the Bay will be approved in any loca-
tion, provided that the highest part of the structure is

WHidigdAS, no plan for crossing will te adequate to serve the proper needs of
all the common;ties served unless the one structure is designed to facilitate the
handling of all inter-urban passenger, vehicular and foot traffic, therefore be it

importanae, and that this welfare will be promoted by adopting the most feasible

That in the interest of economy, a high bridge will be permitted
at approved locations north of Nhrter's 000 t, providing certain

2., That no low bridge be approved north of Ban Mateo.
3. That concerning a tunnel project crossing the bay at any point,
consideration will be given in the interests of economy to a re-
ction of the minimum depth of 50 feet below moan lower low water.,
as now required.
4. That, concerning a combined bridge and tunnel crossing the bay,
consideration will be giv-en, in the interest of economy, to a
redaction 5f the ope5 . channe1 . now required along the San lirenalsco
silo, to a minimom depth of less than 50 feet below mean lower low
water, ond R. minimum width of less thar 3000 feet, provided that
