ClEREAS., an agreement was enttred into on June 17, 1925, between Magnus Hallested
and Christine Molinsted, his wife, of the City of Oakland, County of Alameda, State of
Oalifornta, hereinafter called the cowners)tand Gitg of.11areda, a municipal. corporation
of.said. state, hereinafter called the "oityz, whereby said owners agreed to dedicate the
necessary land for enabling the opening of Calhoma and Clay streets, between Broadway and.
Regent streets, in said city, in consideration of the payment by eald city. of the sum of
One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) toward the subsegment improvement of those portions of
said streets which wtaAd constitute the intersections of the present sidewalk. area and.
the western side of MAtcadway, when said streets were opened,
AND WIERCCA0, the Council of the City of Alameda subseetently reached the con-
clasion. that public interest and convenience aid not demand the openinz and. extension of
Clay Street bat that their origdnal resolution shoul1 . be modified so as to apply to Calhoun
Stgeet only, provided sold owners were agreeable to the opening of said street and its
imtrovezont on the conon that said city should contribute FIVO Hundred Dollars t)])500o0.0)
toward that portion uf the imrrovemont of sold street which. is embraced within the inter-.
section of the present sidewalk arta end the western. side of Broadwwy, when. said street
is opened,
GED WEENEAS, said owners have. delivered a grant of easement over the lands
necessary to ennble an. extension. of Cancun Street, as aforwstated,
AND WHEREAS, it appears that the improvement of said street is now being made,
now therefore be it
RESOLVED, ty the Council of the City of Alamoda that in. consideration of the
premises it is hereby ordwred that the sam of Fdve Hundred Dollars (0500.001 be and the
game is hereby appwopristod anA ordored to be paid to said owners to defruy the. expenses
of that portion of the imwrovement of said street as aforementioned, in aocordanow with
the terms, conditions and covenants set forth. in the aforesaid. agweement.
