AWARDING CONTRACTS FOh CRUSHED ROCK, SCREENINGS
AND ROAD CIL.
WHEREAS, the purchasing agent of the city, pursuant to authority heretofore
given by the council, did on the 23rd day of March, 1927, advertise for sealed bids or
proposals for furnishing crushed rock, screenings and road oil to the City of Alameda,
in response to which a number of bids were received, including those hereinafter men-
tioned, now therefore it is hereby
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that all bids received
pursuant to said advertisement, except the three (3) next hereinafter mentioned, be
rejected, and contracts for furnishing said materials be and the same are hereby awarded
to the following parties, to-wit:
RHODES-JAMESON COMPANY, for furnishing 2000 cubic yards, more or less,
o Crashed Lock, delivery to extend over a period of ten
(10) months as per proposal received, price at bunker One
Dollar and Sixty-five Cents (01.65) per ton, and price
delivered One Dollar and Ninety-five :Deets (1.95) per ton.
POWELL B2OS., INC., for furnishing 1500 cubic yards, more or less,
of Screenings, delivery to extend over a period of ten
(10) months as per proposal received, price at bunker
One Dollar and Ninety-Cents (01.90) per ton, and price
delivered Two Dollars and fifteen Centa (2.15) per ton;
also for furnishing 1000 cubic yards, mere or lesa, of
Bird's Eye Screenings, price at bunker Two Dollars and
Seventy-five Dents (02.75) per ton, and price delivered
Two Dollars and Eighty-five Cents (2.55) per ton.
ILEATEY-MOOR:E CO,., for furnishing 2000 barrels, more or less, of
Calol or Readamite 0i1, delivery to extend over a period
of ten (10) months as per proposal received, from the pit
et foot of High Street, Oakland, California, and spread
upon the streets of Alameda as specified in said bid, at
Tour Boilers and Thirty-two Dents (54.32) per barrel.
RESOLVED, that the mayor of the city be and he is hereby authorized to execute
contracts with said three (3) parties and attach his signature thereto for and in the
name of the City of Alameda, and the city clerk is hereby instructed to attest the same.
I, the undersigned, hereby uertify that the•foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the council of the city of Alameda in regelar,
meeting assembled on the 5th day of April, 1927 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Lathan, Noise, Noble, Traver and President Otis, (5).
