APPROVING APPLICATION OF CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO
FOR A FERMIT 1TOR SAN FRANCISCO BAY BRIDGE.
WHEREAS, there is pending before the United States War Department an
application for the construetion of a tranabay bridge between the City aad County
of 2&j and the County of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the Beath of Supervisors of the City and County of an Francisco
has approved RS a site for the easterly terminal of said bridge a location on the
Alameda Mole south of San Antonio Esteary; and
ViHEREAS, it was heretofore reported to the Council of the city of Alameda
that suoh terminal might interfere with projects for harbor development by the City
of Alameda on the south shore of said San Antonfo Estuary, and this Council appointed
a Committee to confer with the officials of San Franciaco.for the purpose of adjusting
bridge plans to avoid such interference; and
WHEREAS, that committee reports that after conference with the officials
of San Francisco in the matter the said officials have stated that the plane for
said easterly terminal are at the present time general within a certain zone and
subject to adjdatment in order to meet the need's of the Alameda waterfront develop-
ment and said officials have agreed that final plans will be so adjusted;
NOV THEREIT'ORE be it resolved by the Coancil of the City of Alameda that
it does hereby give approval to the proposition of a transt bridge and endorses
the application of the City amid County of San Francisco before the War Department
for a permit for each bridge, provided it does not interfere with the harbor de-
velopment plans of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly End regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in special meeting assembled on the 14th day of June, 1927, by the following vote,
to wit:
OES: Councilmen Calcutt, Latham, Noble and Tresident Otis, (4).
NOES: Councilman Neiss, (1).
ABSENTM None,
