PROTESTING INCREASE OP FARES BETWEEN ALAMEDA APE
SAN TRAEOISOC.
WHEREAS, the California State Railroad Commission has seen fit
to grant the Southern Pacific an increase in the ferry commutation fares
between the City of Alameda and San Francisco, and.
WHEREAS, this increase of Pares 23 in violation of the frane
ohlse granted the Southern Pacific Company by the City of Alameda, and
WHEREAS, this increase in fares will greatly retard the growth
and development of Alameda, without in our opinion banoriting the Southern
Pacific, Company.
NOW , THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the City Council of
Alameda go an record as being opposed to this increase of fares, and
that the City Attorney of the City of Alameda be instructed, to file
a protest with the Railroad Commission
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting absembled on the 6th day of June, 1526,
by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Calcutb, Latham, Betas, Noble and President
Otis, (5).
NOES; None.
ABSENT: Nene.
