RESOLUTION TO MAKE NE3 CLASSITICATION ON COUNCIL'S
OWN 'INITIATIVE.
WHEREAS, offioials of the Hotel Alameda have appeared before the
council requesting the council to take immediate action on the question
of changing or reclassifying certain property on the north side of Santa
Clara Avenue between Broadway and Everett in order to build a garage.thereon
and provide facilities for housing automobiles for the patrons of said hotel,
ArD WHEREAS, the owner of said property proposes to construct residencee
thereon unless immediate steps are taken to reclassify said aroperty as
Suggested, and whereas no other property is available in the near vicinity of
said hotel for such purposes, wherefore the condition may be deemed in the
nature of an emergency requiring immediate action, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda that the council take
up the queotiOn of changing and reclassifying said property on its own
initiative and without a petition therefor, as authorized by section 19 of
Ordinance No. 370, 11.5., of the City of Alameda, and the City Clerk is hereby
instructed to give notice of a hearing of the proposed change to be held by
the City Council in the time, form and manner required by said ordinance.
RESOLVED 7URTHER, that the City Clerk notify the dity Planning Oommiesion
of the time and place of said hearing and, on behalf of the council, invite oald
commission to sit in said hearing with the council.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introdueed and adopted by the Council of the City of Almada in
regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of March, 1929, by the following vote,
