FOR TEE ADMINISTRATION OF SAID FUFD."
WHEEFF13, on Tuesday, Juno 27, 1933, a special election was held in the
City of Alameda, wherein. tterc was aubmitted to the qualified electors
of said City an Ordinance No. 503 N,R., amending Ordinance No. 276
known as the Pension Ordinance, entitled. "An Ordinance. providing for a
relief, health, life insurance and tension fund for members of the Eire
and Police ;departments of the .2y of Alameda: also for the 10 of said Rand", as lo lows:

members of the Fire and Pollee Departments of the City
of Alameda; also for the adudnistration of said fund.
RE IT ORDAINED by the People of the City of Alameda
es follaws:
Rection 1, Section (11) of fdectioa 3 of Ordinance.
Ne. 276 N.'S., is hereby amended. to read as follows:
(e) Should any person, while serving as 9 member
of the regularly constituted. Fire Or Police Departments
become onysically disabled as a direct result of bodily
injury received in or frc m. the performance of his duty,
or become. physically disabled from army er disease
peduldar to the wertg of a fireman 07 pol iceman; said
Pension Board shall, upon the written request of said
pereon, or his guardian, or without suci . request if it
deem. it for the good of the service, order T.119.t such
parson be retired from active service; and from the
date of making snob order the active service of such
person shall cease. The persan thus retired shall
thereafter be paid from said. fund during his lifetina
a monthly pension equal to one-half Inc :galaxy paid
to members. of the rank which he held at the time of
receiving stlab retirement; provided, that in case
of subsequent change of salary of such rank., the
pension shall be one-half of such salary as changed;
provided, hovever,• that if such. disability shall.
cease, he shall, upon the recommendation of the.
chief of his respective department, he restored to
active duty, with the rani, or rating and salary
equal to that held at the time of retirement.
Section. 2 Subsection (b) of Section. 3 of
Ordinance ro. 276. N.2., is hereby amended to read
as follows:
(e) Upon the death of said bensioner, if there
be child or children under eighteen (113) years of
age and tnufarried, one-half and if no such child
or children, one-half (i) of the salary of the rank
which he held at the time of his retirement shall
be paid to his widow in equal monthly installments
till she marries again; and if no widow, each child
under eighteen (13) years of uge and unmarried, shall
receive, in equal monthly installments, twenty per
cent (20) of the salary of the rank said pensioner
held at tha time of his metirement,but in no case
snail this amount exceed one-half (2) of the saiary
of the rank said pensioner held at the tine cf his
retire: sent; and if no children, one-third (1/3) of
the salary of the rank said pensioner held at the
time of his retirement shall be paid to a dependant
mother or father, in equal monthly inatalLnelits.
ection. 3. Ordinance 'No. 276, N.S., is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new section, to be known as
subsection (d) of Section 3, as follows:
(d) The monthly pensions payable under this
ordinance shall not be additional to any monthly com-
pensation insurance payable to any member of the police
or fire department in case of accident resulting in tha
course of his employment, unless the compensation pay-
ments aro less tbon one-half (it) of the sslsmy of the
member, provided that when the mon thly oonnensation
insurance hos been fully paid, the monthly pension will
tharenpon and thereafter be payable, except as herein .
provided.
In case the compensation insurence awarded by the
Industriul Accident Commission shall be payable in a
lump the Pension Board shell not make monthl
payments. of the pension to any member until the expir-
ation. of the period of time covered by the permanent
dIlabIdill rRting, provided in the event said member be
awarded compensation for life, said amount shall be
payable to said member from the Commensation Fund.
The amount of such compensation anti the amount of
pension allowed by the 8card shall not in any event,
exceed one-half ( ) of the member's salary at the
time of his injury.
5ection 4. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 276 N.S.,
is hereby amended to read as follows:

sicknesz or accident not the result of the performance
of his duty, he or his W1107, and if ne widow, his

of age and unmarried, and if no children, his dependent
mother or father shall be paid from the Pension Fund
as follows:
After three (3) years but not exceeding ter (10)
years service, the amount contributed by said member
to said fund, plus rOUT per cent (4%) interest per
annum.
After ten (10) years service, 90000.00.
Section 5- Section 15 of Ordinance No. 27t5 N.J.,
is hereby amended to read as follown:
Section 15. In addition to the MOD.a . to be. paid
into said Pension Fund as. aforementioned, the treasurer
shall retain. monthly from the compensation of each.
officer and member of the police. and fire departments
two per centum (2%) of each. mont1 's. salary and deposit
the same in aaid fund, but RO such officer or member
shall have ony vested right or interest therein by- reason
of the retention of shah percentage.
Section 6. 10.3 0'10C3 No. 276 H.S., is hereby
amenned by adding thereto a new seotion, totbe known so

said fund, " shell be in full force and effect from and after ten (10) days
after the declaration by. the canvassing board of tha romilt of said election,
