AUTHORIZING PERFOPIEINCH AND COMPLETION' OF
PROJECT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF Wed3STER
OIRENT, AND DIRECTING THE CLERK TO ADVER-
TISE FOR aEzdZED BIDS,
WHEREAS the City of Alameda, purnuent to rules and regulations Promul-
gated for administering the provisions of Chapter 767, Statutes of 1033, re-
lating to the allocation and: expendituregfrom State Highway Fund of an arennt
equal to one-ouarter of one cant per gallon. tax on motor vehicle fuel within
incorporated cities, submitted to the Directer of labile Works of the Mate
of California its project for the imaroverent, under the provisions of said
Act, of Webster Street in. said City, consisting of cutting back sidewalk area
four feat on each side, construction of concrete curbs and gutters, gutter
bridges end portiono of sidewalk, installing corrugated et:averts, grading and
paving with asphaltic concrete, from the Segregation Bine to the: northerly
curb line of Central Avenue, and
JEEREAS said project and construction work therein contemplated has been
approved by Sold Director of Public Works, and the moneys required to cover
the cost of said project have be allocated, and the exnenditure thereof auth-
orized and approved, and e contract or "Memorandum of Agreement" was hereto-
fore on the 19th day of June, 1934, jointly executed by tPo City of Alameda
and the Department of Public Works of the atate of Celiferdin, and
WHEREAS plans and specifications for the inrrovement and, work hereinbeforo
referred to have been prepared by, and are now on file in the office of the City
Engineer of the City of Alameda, and have been approved by said Director of Public
Works,
OW, MEDIOCRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, that the
performance and completion of the work specified in said, Project be, and the sane
is hereby authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clark be, end. he is hereby, authorized
and directed to advertise for seelhed bids for the furnishinv of labor and naterial
required for the completion of said Project and improvement, o, accordance with said
plans and apecifications.
EE (2 FURTHER RESOLVED that each bid snail be accompanied by a certified
check, on a responsible bank, in a own equal to tan per cent (10%) of the agg-
regate amount of the bid, payable to the City of Alameda, to be forfeited to
said City as agreed and. liquidated daneges should the party or parties to whom
the contraet shall be awarded fail, for o period of thirty days from such award,
to enter into a contract for the perfornance and completion of ouch work, or to
give bonds as required by law art by the specifications hereinabove referred to.
PI IT 11327.22 ,REIGOLVED that sash sealed bids will be. received by tile City
Clerk of the City of Alameda at his office until Tuesday, the 16-th day of Oct-
ober, 1934, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. of said day. All bids Lust be in writing.
