Resolution 01895RESOLUTION NO. 1395. TO ESTABLISH AN OFFICE OF THE STATE EMPLOYMENT BUREAU IN THE CITY 01' ALAMEDA, WHEREAS the Ctate of California maintains a system of free employment offices for the benefit of its citizens, and WHEREAS such offices have been opened in Oakland, West Oakland and Berkeley, in Alameda County, and WHEREAS it is expensive, inconvenient and works a hardship upon the citizens of Alameda to have to journey to other cities or sections of the country to register for employment, end WHEREAS the Federal Government, through the National Reemployment Ser- vice, recognizes the State Free Employment Bureau as the source from which employmeat on Public Works must emanate, and 00 01005 it requires an act of the California Legislature to formally' establish an office of the State Free Employment Bureau', and WHEREAS the interests of the citizens of the City of Alameda would be best served by the establishment of az office of the State Employment Bureae in. this city, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RELICT:VFW BY 1r COUNCIL OF THE CITY O LAMED-., that the public interest and welfare of the citizens of Alameda require that an office of the State Free Employment Bureau be established in the City of Alameda, and HE' IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the representatives of this district in the State Senate and State Legislature be, and they are hereby requested to cause to be introduced at the next session of the Legislature the necessary enabling lesislature to establish such an office in this city, and to use their good offices in securing the passage of such legislation. BE IT FURTRER RESOLVED that certain copies of this resolution be for- warded to State Senator, 18th District, William F. Knowland, and Assemblyman, 14th District, Charles J.
