AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTERARCE OF'
AR EMERGENCY HGSPITAL AND DI3PENSARY.
HEREAS, the City of Alaneda has heretofore maintained an emergency hospital
and dispensary for the rendering of first aid treatment to sick and injured peraons
at the Alameda Sanatorium, under a contract heretofore executed between the City
and said Alameda Sanatorium; and
aHERgA3, said Sanatorium has, pursuant to the stipulations contained in said
contract, duly notified the City in writing of its intention to cancel said contract
and discontinue said emergency service, and
WELTRE,AJ, public interest and necessity require that the City of Alameda main-
tain an emergency hospital and dispensary for the rendition of first aid treatment to
the sick and injured, ea provided in the Charter of said city;
508, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that such
emergency hospital and dispensary be established and maintained at the Health Center
Building owned by said city, and that the CitTManager and the City Physician be, and
they are hereby authorized and directed to establish and maintain such emergency
hospital and dispensary and provide medicines, bandages, dressings and other supplies
and facilities which may be required for such purposes, including the employment of
a trained nurse or attendant at a monthly salary of not to exceed 150.00.

regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned
regular meeting assembled an the 22nd day of Marsh, 1935, by the following vote:
