SPEEDING CONSTRUCTION OF PARK &MEET
WFIEREAC, the work of constructing the new Par trset bridge appears
to be unnecessarily slow in. comaarison with the rapid headWay being made
on the Iransbay bridge; and
WHEREAS, the lack of a bridge at Perk Street has not only congested
traffic in. tho Posey Tube, but has resulted in such loss of trade to the
Park Street merchants and industries located ir. the vicinity,
NOW THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY0F ALAMEDA
that the City Manager be, and he is hereby directed to take up this matter
with the appropriate county officials and see if the work of constructing
and completing the Park Street Bridge cannot be oureued with. rcater
rapidity.
RCGOLTED TURTHER, that one oopy of this resolution be sent to the
County Board of Superviaors, and anotAer cony to the County L'ngincer.
