Resolution 01947RESOLUTION NO. 1947. ACCEPTING CALIFORNIA GIRLS/ TRAINING ECRE PROPERTY. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the California Girls, Training Home located on Linden Street, in the City of Alameda, hes discontinued the work for which the home nized, and dismantled the building on its property, with a view of offering said property to the City of Alameda as a public park, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda, on August 22, 1934, Notified the Board of Directors of said Training Home of its unanimous de- cision to accept the property for the purpose offered, providing there was no cumbrance thereon or payments required from the City in connection with said gift; elso that the proper deed would be furnished the City, and WHEREAS, it appears that the Oakland Title Company hes raised a question as to the right of the Training Home, which was organized for charitable purp- oses, to grant its property for park purposes, but has proposed a solution of the problem through the medium of a law suit to clear the title; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED that the offer of said property for park purposes be, and the same is hereby, accepted, contingent, however, on the fact that there is no encumbrance on said property or payment required by the City in connection therewith, and that a clear title can be obtained thereto, or such title as will warrant the lawful empendiature of public money for its improvement. RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, end he is hereby, authorized to partic- ipate or assist in any litigation necessary to clear the title to said property, provided such litigation involves no expenditure of public money for that purpose. * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolutiori was duly end regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alaaeda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of May, 1935, by the following vote, to wit: AYES; Councilmen Broyles, Eachen, Morris, Munro and President Roebke, (5).
