WITHDRAWING APPLICATION FOR A.P.W.A. a- LT AND LOAN FOR
THE SUB-AQUEOUS RAILWAY TUNNEL, AND SUBSTITUTING AN APP-
LICATION FOR A GRANT ONLY.

WHEREXi, under data of July 3, 1935, the City of Alameda. filed an application
with the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works for a loan and grant to
aid in financing the construction of a sub-aqueous tunnel with railway connection to
the transbay bridge; and,
WHEREAS, since that application was filed a more satisfactory plan of financing
has boeh proposed, and is now under consideration by the California Toll Bridge Auth-
ority? which plan necessitates a grant only, instead of a grant and loan, now,
therefore, be it
RESDLYED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that the application o July
3, 1935, for a grant and loan be withdrawn, and a new application be filed for a
grant only.

City Council of said City, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly adopted by said Council at a special meeting thereof held August 17, 1935.
