AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY AT ERZ SOUTHWEST
CORNER OF EIGHTH STREET AND SANTA CLARA AVEM7 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A BRANCH LIBRARY.
WFEREAS, in the oninion of the Council of the City of Alameda, public
interest and necessity require that a 5ranch Library be constructed in the West End
of the City of Alameda; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary sod proper that the real property hereinafter
described be acquired by purchase and be held by the City' of Alameda for a 3ranch
Library; end,
WREREAS, Abram Kcols End Ruth Kbols, his wife, owners of the said real
property, have executed rid. delivered to the City of Alameda their written option,
wherein they agree to convey to the City of Alameda, for the sum of Four Thousand and.
No/100 Dollars ($4,000.00), a good and merchantable title in fee in and to the said
real property, free and clear of all liens end incumbrances; and,
WHEREAS, said purchase price represents E faAr market VPIUC 0 e the said
real property; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the City of
Alameda purchase for the aura of Four Thousand and No/100 Dollar's (4,000.00) , the
following described real property situate in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda,
State of California, more particularly described es follows:
All of that certain lot located on the southwest
corner of Eighth Street ard Sante Clara Avenue;
fronting approximately 53.31 feet on Eighth Street
and 98.50 feet on Sant' Clara Avanue,
to be &Acquired end held by the City of Alameda for a Branch Mdbrary.
BE Id FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon approval of the City Attorney of the
title to the said real property, sada' title to be evidenced by certificate of title
issued by the Oakland Title InsurEnce end Guaranty Como:any, the City of Alapieda
accept the conveyance of the real property and that the proper officials df the City
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to do end perform all acts required
to effectuate said purchase.
BE iT FURTIER REEOLVSD, that the tares on sadd real property for the
fiscal year ending June 30, 1930 be assumed by the City of Alameda, and that the ex-
penses end costs of title search shall he borne and paid. by the City of Alameda, end
that the said purchase price of Four Thouseod end No/100 Dollars (44,000.00) shall
be net to the said Abram and Ruth Roods.
I., the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in special
meeting assembled on the 21st day of October, 1035, by the following vote, to wit:
