RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2029 AND RECOMMENDING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR A BRAMCH PUBLIC LIBRARY BUILDING TO VILLADSEN BROTHERS, IN-
CORPORATED.
WHEREAS, on January 15, 1936, the Council of the City of Alameda
received sealed proposals or bids for the construction of a branch public
library building on the southwest corner of Eighth Street and Sante Clara Avenue
in said city, said bids being received in response to a published advertisement and
in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federal Emergency Administra-
tion of Public Works, and in amount being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Council recommended that the contract be awarded to Kelly
& Tulloch, said recommendation to be subject to the rules of the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Administration of Public, Works has ruled
that in view of the fact that the irregularity of the bid of Villadsen Brothers,
incorporated, not being of a material nature, and that whereas Item 2 is to be
included in Item A, therefore Villadsen Brothers, Incorporated, were the :Lowest
responsible bidder for the construction of said building; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Resolution No. 2029 be rescinded and that the contract
for constructing said branch public library building be awarded to said Villadsen
Brothers, incorporated, for the sum of $234750, said sum including all the work
specified under Items A and C (the work specified in Item B being included in
Item A.)
the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in special meeting assembled on the 16th day of January, 1936,
