AWARDIWG CONTRACT FOR BRANCILPUBLIC LIBRARY BUILDING
IN TEE CITY OF ALLEEDA AND AUTHORIZING TI E ERECTION
OF SAID BUILDING.
WHEREAS, on January 14, 19:56 the Council of the City of Alameda received sealed
bids or proposals for the construction of a branch public library building, to be
erected on the southwest corner of Eighth Street and Santa Clara Avenue in said City,
after the due and proper consideration of which it recommended that the constract for
the construction of said building be awarded to Villadsen Brothers, Incorporated, in
the amount of $23,750; and,
WHEREAS, a resolution of the Council recommending such award was thereupon sub-
mitted to the Acting State Director of the Federal Emergency Administration of Public
Works for consideration, and said State Director, acting for the Administrator of said
Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, has approved the recommendation of
the City Council; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the contract for the con-
struction of said branch public library building. be, and thesame is hereby awarded
to Villaasen Brothers, Incorporated, in the amount of $23,750.
RESOLVED further that the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to execute said
contract for and in the name of the City of Alameda, and that the City Clerk be, and
he is hereby authorized to attest the same.
