AUTHORIEING CaNTRCT WITH THF CHLEDER � COMEERCE
TOR ADVERTISING TH1 caTY.
WITEIREAS, on January B3, 1956, the Deportment of Public Utilities
declared a dividend in the amount of »b0 to he paid into the (kneral
Fund cYf the city for the purpose of employing the Alameda Chamber em
Commerce to advertise the city, on condition that a like amount be ap-
propriated bj the City Ceubedl for the same purpose; and,
WHEREAS, a like amount was contributed by the City Council on
January 21, 1036; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED thst upon tie transfer of said i750 to the General
Fund, said sum be appropriated. for advertising purposes, and the City
Council be, and it is hereby authorized to enter into e contract with
the Alameda Chamber of Commerce, by which the latter udil agree, in con-
sideration of the payment of said sum, to use its facilities and special
knowledge and experience, during the term of said contract, to aid and
assiat in carryAng on the work of inducing immigration to the city, and
the location of industries therein; also to exhibit manufactured or other
products of the city for the purpose of increasing the trade and commerce
thereof.
The Mayor is hereby authcrized to execute such contract and the
City Clerk to attest the same.

of Alameda in regular meeting asembled. on the 4th day of February, 1936,
