Resolution 02048RESOLUTION NO. 2048 APPROVING THE HAYDEN-BIETER BILL FOR FURTHER P.W.A. ENTERPRISES. WHEREAS, Senator Carl Hayden and Congressman Alfred F. Bieter have introduced in Congress a measure providing for $700,000,000 additional funds for projects approved and earmarked for construction under the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works; and, REAS, one of the projects which has been earmarked, recommended and approved by the authorities at Washington as being feasible, desirable and capable of being constructed within the estimated cost, is the sub-aqueous tunnel aoross the estuary to provide a more direct and satisfactory railway connection from the western portion of Alameda to the transbay bridge; now. therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby endorses and urges passage of the proposed legislation to provide 4700,000,000 for the construction of additional projects under the control and jurisdiction of the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works. RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to our Senators and Representatives at Washington. * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 24th day of April, 1936, by the following vote, to wit: (5).
