Resolution 02129RESOLUTION NO. 2129 DECLARING BUILDING KNOWN AS C. 858 CEDAR STREET, ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA, TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE. WHEREAS, the Building Inspector of the City of Alameda found the building or structure located at No. 858 Cedar Street, in the City of Alameda, California, to be so dilapidated from old age and neglect as to be a firemenace, also a breeding place for rodents and a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, whereupon he gave notice in the manner provided by Chapter 4, Title 10 of the Alameda Munici- pal Code, directing the owner to appear before the Council of the City of Alameda on Tuesday evening, january 5, 1937, at the hour of 8:00 o'cicB P.M. and show cause why said building should not be condemned as a uublic nuisance and abated as provided in said Alameda Punicipal Code, and WHEREAS, it appears that said notice was duly and :rgularly given by posting and mailing in the time, form and manner provided by said code, and the matter coning on regularly for hearing before this Council at this time, and witnesses being sworn and testimony being given by the Building Inspector and other competent persons respecting the condition of said building, and the estimated cost of its reconstruction, repair or removal, and the Council having duly considered the matter, NOV IRERFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED 8118 DECLARED BY THE COUNCIL OF TH2 CITY OF ALAMEDA, that the building or structure known and designated as No. 858 Cedar Street in the City of Alameda, California, is so dilapidated from old age and neglect as to be a fire menace and breeding place for rodents and a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, and that by reason thereof said building is a public nuisance; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid building or structure be and the same is hereby condemned as a public nuisance, and the owner thereof is hereby directed to abate said nuisance within 30 days from the date of the passage of this resolution, by having said building or structure properly reconstructed or repaired, or by having the sane razed or removed; Alen 13E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if said nuisance be not so abated, the Building Inspector of the City of Alameda ishereby authorized and directed to raze or remove the aforesaid building or structure, as provided by Chapter 4, Title 10 of the Alameda Municipal Code, and the cost thereof shall be a nee on the lot or parcel of land upon which the same is located. The Building Inspector is hereby authorized and directed to post and mell copies of this resolution es provided by said Code. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the Nth day of January, 1937, by the renewing vote, to wit: (5).
