AUFFicRIIING EXECUTION GE CONTRACT WITH INDEPENDENT
CONSTRUCTION' CO., LTD., FOR THE IMPROVERENT OF HIGH STREET
WHEREAS' the City of AEsmeda, pursuant to the provisions ot Section 203 of toe
Streets and Highways Code, and the rules and regulatichs promulgated thereunder for ad.-
ministering the provisions thereof, submitted to the Director of Public Works of the
State of California its project for the improvoment, under the provisions of said Code,
of High Street in said city, from the High Street Fridge, southerly to the southerly
line of San Jose Avenue, a distance of about 4407 feet, consisting of repaving present
roadway, constructing concrete gutters and other incidental work, end
WHEREAS said project and construction work therein contemplated has been
anproved by said Director of Public Works, and the moneys required to cover the cost
of said project have been allocated, and the exnenditure thereof authorized and approved,
and whereas a contract or 'Memorandum of Agreement" between the City of Alameda and the
Department of Public Works of the tate of California was heretofore jointly executed
by the City February 23, 1937, and by the said Department on March 2, 1937, and
'WHEREAS the City of Alomeda did heretofore authorize the performance and com-
pletion cf said project and improveaent End did heretofore advertise for sealed bids for
the furnishing of labor and material required for the completion of said project, and
WHEPEAS INDEPENDENT CONSTRUCTION CC., LTD., a responsible bidAer, submitted
the loTest bid for the performance and completion of said improvement, and
WHEREAS a form of contract for the performance and completion of said work has
been submdtted to this Council at this meeting,
NUW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OE TEE CITY 131 p8 81 that the bid
of said independent Construction Co., Ltd., be and the same is hereby accehtad, and a
contract for the performance and completion of said work and improvement be, end the
same is hereby awarded to said independent Construction Co., Ltd., pursuant to its bid
as submitted, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute, and the Olty
Clerk to attest, for an on tehaif of the City, the contract for tha completion of said
work and improvement, in the form submitted to this Ceuncil at this meeting.

and regularly introduced and adopted by tbe Council of the City of Alamede in regular
meeting assembled on the 4th day of May, 1937, by the following vote, to wit.:
AYED; Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, Morris and President Eeichhart,
NOES; None. ABSENT: None.
