Resolution 02163RESOLUTION NO. 2163 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE THAT PORTION OE HARRISON A LYING BETWEEN THE EASTERLY LINE OF PEARL STREET AND THE WESTERLY OF VERSAILLES AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA. NE RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF ALAMEDA that public interest and con- venienee require, and said Council hereby declares its intention to order, the closing up of that 'Portion of Harrison Avenue, formerly Washington Avenue, lying between the easterly line of Pearl Street and the westerly line of Versailles Avenue, in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California. RESOLVED FURTHER that no land is deemed necessary to be taken, or will be taken, for the work and improvement of elosing said street, and that the exterior boundaries of the district of lands to be affected or benefitted by said work or im- provement, and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof, are the corporate boundaries of the City of Alameda; that no lands will be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses of said improvement. The Street Superintendent of the City of Alameda shall cause to be conspic- uously posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement notices of the passage of this resolution, in the time, form and manner required by law. He shall also cause a notice, similar in substance, to be published for a period or ten says in the Alameda Times-Star, a daily newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated by the said City Council as the news- paper in which said notice shall be published. Any person interested objecting to said work or improvement, or to the ex- tent of the district of lands to be affected or henefitted by said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, may make written objections to the same within ten days after the expiration of the time of the publication of said notice, and deliver said objections to the clerk of the City Council as required by law. All the herein proposed work and improvement or closing said street, or parts of street aforementioned, shall be done ender and in pursuance of en act of the Legislature entitled, "An act to provide for layout out, opening, extending, widening, straighteniug,or closing up in whole or in part any street, square, lane, alley, court or place within municipalities, and to condemn and acquire any and all land and property necessary or convenient for that purpose," approved March 6, 1889 (Stets. 1869, p.70) and amendments thereto. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meet- ing assembled on the 18th day of May, 1937, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES:, Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, Morris and President Weichhart- (5).
