FOR AllOINTIlENT OF COMMITTEE TO SELECT PERSON OR eENCY
TO INVESTIGATE OPERATION OF PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD.
WHEREAS, certain a11eed facts with regard to the management and operation of
the public utilities of the City of Alameda under the jurisdiction of the Public Utllitie
Board have been called to the attention of this Council; and
WHEREAS, this Council considers it to be in the public interest that a thorou.
and impartial investigation of the existence of said alleged facts be made in the near
future; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to divest any such investigation from
any political atmosphere and to have the same made by a disinterested and impartial
agency in order that the true facts may be fully disclosed;
BE IT RESOLVED, That this Council will, on or before its next regular
meeting, to be held on December 7, 1937, appoint a board of five unbiased
and disinterested citizens to act as a board in recommending to this
Council the employment of some person °regency qualified from both an
accounting and engineering standpoint to make a thorough and impartial
investigation of the operation of the public utilities of this city under
the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Board and to report the findings
of such person or agency to tfis Council, together with recommendations .
for remedying any deficiencies or defects ascertained in relation to such
operations.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adcpted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meet-
ing assembled on the 10th day of November, 1937, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, Maurer, Morris and President Weichhart, (4)
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Godfrey, (1).
