AND REPORT OF CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITAPY SYSTEY.
1ph_TREAS, a special meeting of the City Council. of the City or Oakland was held
on the 3rd day of November, 1937, for the purpose of discussing tvays and means of properly
disposing of sewage in the various East Bay municipalities and of abating the obnoxious
odors on the eastern shore of San Francisco Day; and
THETICA'S,
he County of Alameda and the following municipalities were represented
at said meeting: City of Oakland, City of Richmond, City of Albany, City of Berkeley,
City of Piedmont, City of Alameda., City of Emeryville and City of an Leandro; and
ITHEPEAS, it was the sense of said meeting that the City Engineers of said
municipalities should meet for the purpose of carry-ing on a complete investigation and
recommendation. of ways and means and costs of a plan of constructing, a sanitary system
for "the said municipalities, mainly their sewage disposal and the elimination of obnoxious
odors now existing from the -present disposition made of sewage, in said municipalities, and
for the purpose of apportioning the cost of such investigation among said municipalities;
NOT TIIIIHEFOR.E, BE IT RESOLVED By THE COUNCIL OF 111E CITY 02 AL(AMDEA that the
City. Engineer of the City cf Alameda be and is hereby authorized to meet, in collaboration
with Engineers of the other municipalities, for the purpose of making the preliminary
investigation and report of the cost of carrying on a complete investigation and
recoramendation of ways and means and costs of a plan of constructing a sanitary system
for the said municipalities, mainly, their sewage disposal. and the elimination of obnoxious
odor s now existing from he present disposition made of sewage in said municipalities, and
for the purpose of apportioning the cost of such investigation among said municipalities.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing :Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of filamed.a in regular meeting
assembled on the 7th day of December, 1937, by the following vote, to wit:
