AWARDING CONTRACT FOR =ETCHING LABOR AND MATERIAL FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A FETCE 4 TENNIS COURT AT HAIGHT AVENUE AND
LINDLLIN STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda heretofore published notices calling for his
for furnishing labor and material for the construction of a twelve foot chain link
galvanized fence with two gates, on tennis court at the Northwest corner of HaiOit
Avenue and Linden StreeAlameda, California, in accordance with specifications therefor
approved October 5, 1937; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice, bids were submitted by the following
firms, in the following amounts:
ANCHOR POST FENCE CO. OF aAL.,. . . . . 662•47
WICKWIRE SPENCER STEEL COMPANY. . . . . 688.00
STANDARD FENCE COMPANY. . . . . . . . 796.81
NOW THEREFORE, 33 IT RESOLVED BY THE OCUNCIL OE THE CITY OF 13 172 that said
Anchor Post Fence Co. of Cal. is a responsible bidder and that the bid submitted by said
corporation, in the sum of Six Hundred. Six -two and 47/100 Dollars (662.47) is the
lowest and best bid received;
RESOLVED FURTHER that the bid of said ANCHOR POST FENCE CO. OF CALIFORNIA be
accepted; that a contract for the firnishing of labor and material for said work, in
accordance with said specifications, be awarded to said bidder, and that the Mayor of
the City of Alameda be and he is hereby authorized to execute -on behalf of this City a
contract in the form submitted at this meeting.
rEscIN= IITRTIDEP that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to return to
the unsuccessful bidders the proposal guaranties accompanying their respective bids.

regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 7th day of December, 1937, by the following vote, to wit
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, Sodfrey, Maurer and President Weichhart, W.
NOES: None,
ABSENT: Councilman Morris, (1).
