AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL
COMWUNIOATIONS COM=SSION TOR REYEUL OF 'LICENSE TO OPERATE
POLICE RADIO STATION.
MEREAS the City of Alameda, through. its Department of Public Utilities, here-
tofore made application to the Federal Communications Commission for u license to install
and operate a two-way police radio station, and
WHEREAS pursuant to authority granted by said Federal Communications Commission
a police radio station was heretofore installed and is now being operated at the City Hall
0a- Street and Santa Clara Avenue, in the City of Alameda, under the call letters:
11 6 XKW, and
WHEREAS under the provisions of a new Charter adopted by the people of Alameda ,
and approved by the Legislature of the State of California on May 5, 1937, by Senate
Concurrent Resolution No. 38 (Statutes of 1937, r. 2880) the full control and management
of the Police Department of said City, and of all police equipment and apparatus, is
new vested exclusively in the City Council and in the City Manager.,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAITEDA that Charles
R. Schwanenberg, City Manager of the City of Alameda, be und 9a is hereby authorized
and empowered to make and execute on behalf of said City any and all applications.,
documents or reports for the renewal of such radio station license or for the cOnstruct-
ion, alteration or modification of said police radio station, and generally to do and
perform all things which may be required in connection with such applications., documents
and reports and with the maintenance and operation of such station.

I, the undersignod, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled on the 18thday of January, 1938, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Maurer, Morris and President Weichhart, (3).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: Councilmen Carrington and Godfrey, (2).
