RESOLUTION DETERMINING AND SELECTING CERTAIN STREETS AS PRINCIPAL
THOROUGHEARES ENTERING BUSINESS AND RESIDENEE DISTRICTS IN THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA, AHD DIRECTING THAT SIGNS 12 ERECTED AND MAIN-,
TAINED AT DESIGNATED PLACES AT THE ENTRANCE INTO SAID DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS by the provisions of Section 468 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, the legislative body of every municipality is required and empowered to
select and determine those principal thoroughfares entering a business or residence
district in such City which shall be sign-posted at the entrance thereof into such
diotricts, an provided in said Vehicle Code,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED EY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIWIEEDA as follows:
Section 1. That the following named streets and highways in the City of
Alameda, State of California, are hereby determined, selected and established As principal
thoroughfares entering the business and residence districts within said City, to-wit:
, Buena Vista Avenue, from the Easterly line of Webster Street to the Westerly
line of Park Street;
(e) Central Avenue, from a line drawn Parallel with and 129.5 feet westerly
from the Easterly line of Fourth Street, produced southerly, to the
Westerly line of Fernside Boulevard;

Gibbons Drive, from the Westerly line of High Street to the Northerly line
of Central Avenue;
(d) High Street, from a lire drawn parallel with the Northerly line of Fernside
boulevard and 24 feet northerly therefrom, to the Northerly line of can
Jose Avenue;

Lincoln Avenue, from the Easterly line of Third Street to the Westerly
line of Park Street;
Otis Drive from the Easterly line of Park Street to the Westerly line of
Mound Street;
Pacific drenue, from a line drawn parallel with and 67 feet East of the
Easterly line of Santa Clara Avenue to the Westerly line of Park Street;
(h) Park Street, from the Southerly line of ndin venue to the Northerly
line of Otis Drive;
(i) Santa Clara Avenue, from. the Easterly line of Third Street to the Westerly
line of High Street;
(j) Versailles Avenue, from e line drawn parallel to the Northerly line of
Fernaide Boulevard and 475 feet Northerly therefrom, to the Northerly
line of Central Avenue;
(k) 'Webster Street, from a line drawn parallel with and 5.04 feet northerly
from the Northerly line of Eagle Avenue, to the Northerly line of Central
,venue.
Section. 2. That net signs of the type and design. described in Section 466(0)
of said Vehicle Code be erected and maintained upon the following named principal thorough-
fares, at the entrance thereof into a business district in the City' of Alameda, in the
manner orovided in. said section, at Inc places hereinafter designated, to-wit:
(u) Central Avenue, on the southerly side thereof, 12 feet east of the
Easterly curb line of Oak Street;
Central Avenue, on the Northerly side thereof, le feet west of the
Westerly curb line of Everett Street;
Park Street, on the Westerly side thereof, 25 feet south of the
Southerly corb line of Blanding dvenue;
Park Street, on the Easterly side thereof, 21 feet north of the
Northerly 7,LIT31 line of San Jose Avenue;
(c) Santa Clara Avenue, on the Southerly side thereef, 12 feet east of
the Easterly curb line of Oak Street;

Santa Clara Avenue, on the Northerly side thereuf, 22 feet west of
the Westerly line of Everett Street;
Webster Street, on the Resterly side thereof, 105.5 feet north of
the Northerly curb line of Lincoln Avenue;
Webster Street, on the Easterly side thereof, 23.5 feet north of
the Northerly curb line of Santa Clara .venue.
Section 3. That metal signs of the type end design described in Section. 468(d)
of said Vehicle Code be erected end maintained upon the following named principal therough-
fares, at the entrance thereof into a residence district in Inc City of Alameda, in the

Section (1. That metal signs, of the type and design described in Section
458(d) of said Vehicle Code, be erected and maintained upon the following named streets
and highwayc in the City of hlameda, in the manner provided in said section, at the places
hereinafter designated, to-wit:
(a) Maitland Drive, on the cutherle side thereof, '760 feet West of
thc Westerly line of glower LEne;
(b) Maitland Drive, on the Northerly side thereof, 100 feet Easterly
from the Easterly line of Melrose Street;
(c) Mound Street, on the Easterly side thereof, 17 feet North of the
Northerly curb line of 001e Drive;
(d) Peach. (Street, on the Easterly side thereof, 96 feet South of the
Southerly curb line of Adams Street;
(e) Wnshington Street, on the Northerly' side thereof, 33 feet West
of the Westerly curb line of Peach Street.
Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of AlamedE is hereby authorized and
directed tc erect and maintain, or to cause to be erected and maintained, on the streets
and at the places hereinbefore specified, the official signs required to be erected and
maintained by this resolution. Ali such signs shall conform, in all uurticulurs, with
the requirements of said Vehicle Code.
Inc undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of Inc City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 1st day of March, 193a, by the following vote, to-wit:
