Resolution 02344RESOLUTION NO. 2344 AMEN0IN3 AND READOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 2339 WHEREAS, this Council by its Resolution No. 2339 heretofore authorized the performance and completion of a project for the improvement of Otis Drive in the City of Alameda and approved the plans and specifications therefor, and WHEREAS it has come to the attention of this Council that the schedule of general prevailing rates of per diem wages adopted in said resolution for the performance of the work to be contracted for is not in some particulars the general prevailing rate of per diem wages paid in the heavy construction industry in this loeality; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF ALAMEDA that all bids submitted pursuant to said resolution, and the notice and call for bids issued pursuant thereto, be, and the same are hereby, rejected, and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to return said bids unopened to the respective bidders. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flagman) double the above rates. The foregoing schedule of wages is based upon a working day, unless otherwise specified, of eight (8) hours. RESOLVED FURTHER that it shall be mandatory upon the contractor, and upon any sub-contractor under him, to pay not less then the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them. in the execution of said work and the contract therefor BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except as modified by this resolution the provisions of said Resolution No 2339 and the aforesaid plans and specifications are hereby confirmed and readopted. RESOLVED FURTHER that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for sealed bids for the furnishing of labor and material re- puired for the completion of said project and improvement, in accordance with said plans and specifications, and that such sealed bids will Be received by the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Alameda until the 2nd day of May , 1939, at 8:15 o'clock p.m, of said day. All bids must be in writing.
