AUTHORIZING. CERTAIB-WORK AND MPROVEMENTE V1TEOUT
CONTRACT ON BARU STREET SEWER
WHEREAS, the preoent concrete sanitary sewer on Peru Street running
from Alameda Avenue to the north side sewer is inadequate in size and by
reason of obsolescence is in such damaged condition that its replacement is
necessary and in tie public interest; and.
HEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared a project and plans and
specifications and estimates of cost for the construction of a new 15 inch
sanitary sewer of vitrified pipe to replace said concrete sewer and to run
along Para Street from the intersection. of Alameda Avenue approximately 2,501
feet to the north side sower; and
WHEREAS, the labor in porfarming the work of installing and construct-
ing said sanitary sewer wit the necessary appurtenances is to be done princi-
pally by labor furnished through the WUTICO Progress Administration; and
HEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council said werk uf installing
and constructing. said sanitary newer and necessary appurtenances can be per-
formed moro economically by the City without contract;

that the construction and installation of said sanitary sewer, in accordance
mitt said nroject, plans and specifications, be, and the same is hereey,
autitorized.
DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council hereby finds and determines
that, in its opinion, the work of installing and constructing the aforesaid
new sanitary sewer with the necessary appurtenances will be performed more
ecenomically by the City without contract; and
DE IT FUR= RESOLVED that said . work and the installation and COD-
struction of said sanitary sewer be, and is hereby, authorized and ordered to
be done by the City through its officers and employees and as a Works Progress
Administration. project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
Luly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of July, 1%39, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, aodfrey, Bunrer, Morris and President
Weichhart, (5).
