AUTHORIZING CERT.AIN 'WORK AND 1110 RO012oms 111 TROUT
CONTRACT ON SANTA CL 'ARA AVEILJE 1211 GRANT STREET
the present rock gutters on both sides of Santa Clara Avenue
from Webster Street to High Street, and on Grand Street from Clement Avenue to
the Bay or San Francisco have become warn. and. off line and grade, and it is
therefore necessary and in the public interest ti at said gutters be replaced
and reconstructed; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer haa prepared a project, together with plans
and specifications and estimates for the cost of relaying mld reconstructing
such sutters on said streets; and
HEPEAS, the labor in performing the work of relaying and reconstruct-
ing said gutters is to be done principally by labor furnished through the Ser
Progress Adrainistration; and
VJaMPAS, in the epinden of the City Council said work of relaying
and reconstructing* said gutters can be Performed more economically by the City
without contract;

that the relaying and reconstructing of said rock gutters on said portions of
Santa Clara Avenue and Grand Street in the City of Alameda, in accordance with
said project and plans and specifications, be, and tee same is hereby, authorized.
RESOLVED FURTILER that this Council hereby finds and determines that
in its °Pinion, the work of relaying and reconstructing the aforesaid rock
3-utters en said streets will be performed iccre economically by the City without
contract; and
SE IT FUTCEIER RESOLVED that the said wdrk and the re-laying and re-
constructins of said rook cutters be, and is hereby, authorized and. ordered to
be done by the City through its officers and employees and es a Works Progress
Admindstratidn. project.
