AUTHORIZING ETTENSION OF TEXE FOR JOINT OPERATION WITH
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA OF FRCITTALE AVENUE BRIDGE; APPROVING
NOINT AND AUTTIORIZING EXECUTION OF FIFTH SUPPLEMENTAL
AGREEMENT.
WHERETS, pursuant to the terms of that certain "Supplemental Agreonentl,,
dated 'January 24, 1940, mane by end betwwn the County of Alameda. and the City of
Alameda, the City of Alameda and said. County have engaged in the joint operation
of the Frultvale Avenue Bridel and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in. the public interest that the period -1
time for the joint operation of said bridge be extended ta August 1, 1940; and
WEEREAS, a fhrm of contract entitled. "Fifth Supplemental Agreement"
and providing for the extension of the period of the joint operation cf acid
bridge to August 1, 1240 has been. presented and submitted to this Council, a
copy of Wtich. Fifth Supplemental Agreement is hereto attached and made a part
hereof;
NO VI, THEREFORE, El IT RESOLVER. BY TEE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY 07 ALAMEDA
that the period for the joint operation by the County of Alameda and the City of
AlamPda of the said Fruitvale Avenue Bridge be, and the 5aille is hereby, extended.
to August 1, 1940, said joint operation to be carried out in accordance with sad
subject to all tl e. terms and. conditions contained in said Supplemental Agreement;
and the Mayor of the City of Alameda is hereby' antthbrized and directed to e,xecute
and the City Clerk to atlas', fcr and cn behalf of the City of Alameda, an agree-
ment substantially 1- the form of the dforesaid Fifth Supplemental. Agreement.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, THAT the sun of ;00.00, or 80 much thereof as may
be necessary, be, and is hereby, appropriate e. from the General Fund of the City
of Alameda, 'Budget Account, 700, to oay for the City of Alameda's share of the
cost of oeeration of said. 1010 11e Avenue Bridge, as provided in saih agreements,

of June, 1940, by and. between the COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, State of California, acting
by' and thrhngh its BoArd of SnperviscTs, who are duly authorized, hereinafter
designated as the first party, and the City of Alameda, r municipal corporation,
hereinafter dheignated as the second party,
WITNESTR:
IT IS HEREBY MUTUALLY' UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that the period uf time for
the joint operation of the Fruitvnle Avenue. Brigh as provided by that certain
"Supplemental. Agreement" dated. the 24th day of January, 1941, and entered into. by
and between trio parties hereto, be and the same Is hereby extended.. to August let,
