AWARDING CONTRACT FOR LEGAL ADVERTISING TO TIMES-
STAR PUBLISHING COMPANY FOR FISCAL YEAR 1940-1941.
WREREAS, this Council, pursuant to its Resolution No 2494, heretofore
called and advertised for sealed bids for the publication of all legal advertis-
ing of the City of Alameda for and during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1941;
and
WHEREAS, in response to said advertisement the Times-Star Publishing
Company, a corporation, submitted its sealed proposal, in writing, for publish-
ing said legal advertising during said fiscal year in the Alameda Times-Star;
and
WHEREAS, it appears to this Council, and it is hereby found and de-
termined, that the Alameda Times-Star is a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Alameda for a period of more than one year immediately
preceding the making of such bid; that said newspaper has a bona fide paid cir-
culation of more than 1000 copies; and that said Times-Star Publishing Company
is a responsible bidder and the publisher of said Alameda Times-Star; and
WHEREAS, the bid of said Times-Star Publishing Company is the only
bid submitted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the bid of said Times-Star Publishing Company be, and is hereby, accepted,
and the contract for the printing of legal advertising for the fiscal year end-
ing July 30, 1941 be, and is hereby, awarded to said bidder.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Mayor of the City of Alameda is hereby
authorized and directed tc execute, and the City Clerk to attest, for and on
behalf of the City of Alameda, a contract with said Times-Star Fublishing Com-
pany for the publication of all legal notices of the City during the fiscal
year ending Tune 30, 1941, which contract shall be in the form and contain the
terms, covenants and agreements set forth in the form of contract submitted to
this Council at its regular meeting held. on July 16, 1940, and filed with the
Clerk of said City.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that upon execution of said contract the said
Alameda Times-Star 811E111 be the official newspaper of the City of Alameda dur-
ing the fiscal year ending June 30, 1941.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of July, 1940, by the following
