AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SURDS, CONCRETE
GUTTERS, GUTTER BRIDGE AEI) CEMENT SIDEWALKS WITHOUT
CONTRACT
HEREAS, it is necessary and in the public interest that new concrete
curbs, concrete gutters, gutter bridges and cement sidewalks be constructed in
the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared a project, plans, specifica-
tions and estimate of costs for the construction of new concrete curbs, concrete
Eutters, gutter bridges and cement sidewalks, as follows:
3000 lineal feet of concrete curbs,
24000 " " " concrete gutters,
900 " " " gutter bridges,
20 " " " cement sidewalks;
and
WHEREAS, the labor in performing the work of installing and construct-
ing said concrete Curbs, gutters, gutter bridges and sidewalks is to be done
principally by labor furnished through the Works Progress Administration; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council said work of installing
and constructing the aforesaid curbs, gutters, gutter bridges and sidewalks can
be performed more economically by the City without contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 3Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA.
that the construction and installation of said curbs, gutters; gutter bridges
and sidewalks, in accordance with said. project, plans and specifications, be,
and the sane is hereby, approved and authorized.
BE IT FUTITHER RESOLVED that this Council hereby finds and determines
that in its opinion the work of installing and constructing the aforesaid curbs,
gutters, gutter bridges and sidewalks will be performed nore economically by
the City without contract; and
BE IT FUSTIER RESOLVED that said work and the installation and con-
struction of said curbs, gutters; gutter bridges and sidewalks be, and is hereby
authorized and ordered to be, done by the City throuvh its officers and employees
and as a Works Progress Administration project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of August, 1940, by the following
vote, to wit:
