AUTHORIZING CONSTRTJCTION OF A RECREATION
BUILDING IN LONGFELLOW PARK.
WEREAS, Longfellow Park in the City of Alameda does not have a
recreation building and it is in the public c interest that a recreation
building be located in said park; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared a project, plans, specifi-
cations and estimates of cost for the construction of a recreation building
in Longfellow Park; and
WHEREAS, the labor in performing the work of constructing said
building and the necessary appurtenances is to be done principally by labor
to be furnished through the Works Progress Administration; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of Alameda said
work of constructing said recreation building and necessary appurtenances can
be performed more economically by the City without oontract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALANEDA
that the construction of said recreation building with necessary appurtenances,
in accordance with said project, plans and specifications, be, and the same is
hereby, approved and authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council hereby finds and determines
that, in its opinion, the work of constructing the aforesaid recreation build-
ing with necessary appurtenances will be performed more economically by the
City without contract; and.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said construction of said recreation
building be, and is hereby authorized and ordered to be, done by the City
through its officers and employees and as a Works Progress Administration
project.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of September, 1940, by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:
