Resolution 02525RESOLUTION NO. 2525 REQUESTING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PLACE BOND ISSUE PROVIDING FOR HALF COST OF TUBE, WITH OTHER HALF TO BE BORNE BY FEDERAL GOVERMENT, ON NOVEMBER 5, 1940 BALLOT. WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of Alameda the construction of a new tube under the Estuary of San Antonio, parallel to the present Posey Tube, is an absolute necessity not only for the welfare of the City of -Alameda but for all of Alameda County; and WHEREAS, as the result of extensive work and planning the possi- bility of having the Federal Government pay one-half of the cost of construc- tion of such a tube has been developed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County be requested to take the necessary steps to place on the ballot for consideration at the General Elec- tion to be held on November 5, 1940, a measure providing for a bond issue in an amount necessary to finance one-half of the cost of construction of such tube, with the provision that one-half of the cost of construction thereof is to-be paid by the Federal Government. * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of September, 1940, by the follow- ing vote, to wit: (4).
