WHEEEAS, the City of Alameda heretofore assessed and levied taxes for
general manicical purposes against a certain parcel of real property situated. in
the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, hereinafter more
particularly' referred to, which taxes were assessed and levied for the ybar and
in. the amourt and to the nersonA hereinafter set forth, to witr
Texas for 1927-1928 - Second Installmant, in. the amount
cf
Assessed to A. F. Teratagge and W. G. Pfundetein;
On Lot 412 in Block as said lot and block are
delineated and so designated upon that certain
map entitled, "Farnside, Alameda, California,"
filbd June 9, 1925 and recorded in Liner 4 of
haFIDS., pages 76 and 77 in. the office of the
County Recorder of Alarnda County; and
WiliREAS, it satisfactorily appearing to this Council from the verified
petition of the Veterans' Welfare Beard of the State of California bearing the
date of january 9, 194 and on file with the Council of the City of Alameda, and
thls Council upon satisfactory proof thereof 59 finds, that after the tine diat
said assessmants and taxes became a lien on the sail parcel of real property
said parcel of reel. broperty was acquirad and owned, and ever since has been and
new is owned, by the Veterans' Welfarh Board of the State of Californda, a pub-
lic corporation and because of such public ownership is not subject to sale for
delinquent taxes; and
A5.EREcA8), the aforesaid taxes and assessments levied on said parcel of
land, in the amount herdinbefore act forth, ore unpaid and uncollected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED DY TEE COUNCIL OF IHE CITY CF ALAMEDA,
the writtem consent of the City Attorney of the City of Alameda having been
givdn heretofore as reqoired by law, that the aforesaid uncollected taxes and
assessments charged or levied by the City cf Alameda for city purposes upon the
aforesaid carded of real property, together with. all penalties and Pests thereon
be, and the same are. hereby, cancelled, and the Auditor and Tax Collector or
other officer of the City of Alameda having the custody of tho record thereof,
are hereby authorized and directed to cancel such tuxes and assessments 50 levied
or charged, together with all penalties and costs thereon, and to make appro-
priate entries and record of such cancellation on their respective books; and
RE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AIM ORDERED that if the aforesaid parcel of real.
pronerty has been sold to 'die City for non-payment of any of the aforesaid un-
collected taxes, asessments and penalties or costs thereon tereinatove ordered
to be cancelled, and a certificate of sale or deed therefor has been issued to
the City, and the City has not disposed of said property so sold, the officer
having custody of the record thereof be, and he 15 hereby, directed to cancel tha
certificate of sale or deed se issued.
nE IT FURTHER NECLVED, anything in this resolution to the contrary
notwithstanding, thbt this resolution and ardor shall not be construed as cancel.-
ling or authorizing the cancellation of any taxes cr assessments 300101 0"
charged against any possessory interest in said parcel of real property 02 of
any special assessmant taxed levied against said parcel of real property by the
City of Alameda pursuant to the provision3 -0f the "Acquisition and. improvembnt
Act of 1925".
