Resolution 02773RESOLUTION NO. 2773 PROVIDING FOR THE AMOUNT PER DIEM FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OE ALAMEDA FOR TRAVELING EXPENSES. WIJEREAS, Section 22-7 of the charter cf the City of Alameda requires that the Council annually fix the per diem allowance for traveling expenses of officers and employees of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE rl RESOLVED 07 THE COUNCIL OF ddi7E CITT OF ALAMEDA as follows: (1) Any officer or employee of the City who shall, under the authority of law and, except for routine duties, cn authari2ation of the Council, leave the City for the purpose of performing any official duty or rendering any service for or on behalf of the City, cr for Us purpose of officially representing said City or any board, cormissicn or department thereof, shall be allowed the traveling expenses incident to said service, which traveling expenses Shall include the ac- tual cost of transportation, including Pullman charges, plus a per diem allowance in an amount not to exceed 10.00 per day for each and every day whoile said officer or employee is absent cn said official business; (2) Demands for payment of traveling exnenses for which prior authoriza- tion of the Council is required shall not exceed the amount appropriated cr author- ized by the Council; (3) Performance of duties or services for or on behalf of the City, to be performed outside of the City in connection with routine duties, need not have been previously authorized. by the Council; however, traveling expenses incurred in connection with tne performance of such routine duties or services shall be allowed only when such performance was authorized by the head of the department or office in whioh Inc officer or employee making demand therefor is employed. The term "routine duties", as used herein, shall be deemed to include performance of duties or dervices connected with city business the necessity for the performance of which may arise from time to time, although the same may net be of a periodically recur- rent nature, and shall include attendance at classes for the purpose of instruction or training in city work, or attendance at meetings of other city officials or em- pleyees or public administration officers held for the purpose ixf discussing and solving problems of public administration with which the City is conceimed; (4) Demands for truveling expenses shall be for expenditures actually incurred, and shall be supported by a statement of the officer or employee present- ing same showing the nature and amount of the items of expenditure forming the basis thereof, and such vouchers or proof of expendlturcs as shall be required by the Council cr the Auditor.
